Every year during Spring, Bangalore looks its absolute best. It is during this time that the pink Tabebuia Rosea flowers are in full bloom and the streets are lined with pink trees, making the city look straight out of a cherry blossom festival. However, it is not just the Tabebuia Rosea flowers that paint Bangalore pink. You’ll often find local flower sellers selling pink water lilies on the roadside who contribute immensely to the floral beauty of the city.
Here’s an example. People on Twitter have been rightly hyping this guy who sells water lilies in the morning in Indiranagar. He even has a fan-favourite trick to attract customers – throwing a lily upward towards the sky and then catching it. It’s a visual spectacle.
Imagine having these in your home! Don’t they look gorgeous?
Here’s a customer who is most certainly charmed by the beauty of these lilies.
These visuals were shared on Twitter by a guy named Atul who was amazed by how consistently the flower seller shows up in the morning and uses his magic to sell the lilies. Have a look:
I LOVE how this guy consistently shows up and sells lotuses through the morning. 9/10 times you’ll find him right outside Labonel, 12th main, Indiranagar with a little bit of drama in the way he sells. I’m a fan. 💅🏾

Turns out, a lot of people travelling to work via Indiranagar have spotted this guy and have been mesmerized by him. Some even pointed out that he can be found in other areas as well including Malleswaram and Sanjay Nagar.
Cross him everyday on my way to work. I always wondered if his “tricks” have some science behind them or they’re just tricks 🙂

I remember seeing him on Ali Asker Road, near the musical fountain park… But that was before Covid.

Seen someone with similar tricks in Malleswaram 17th cross for nearly 6 years before the pandemic! Not only water lilies but also other fancy flowers. I agree, there’s something about his trick of throwing flowers up in the air and catching it back – makes you admire it more.
