I think most of us can agree that one of our fondest memories from childhood is wearing a mask, especially that of Batman, and a dupatta around our neck like a cape and running around the house pretending to be a superhero! Superheroes were are idols and we wanted to walk, talk, look like them. And now, one baby really does.
Meet Luna, a 7-month-old baby girl from Florida who was born with a birthmark that looks like a Batman mask! According to a report by Mail Online, Luna has a skin condition called congenital melanocytic nevus which produces dark blemishes.
Even though Luna’s condition attracted a few mean comments from people, including a woman who once called her a “monster”, the online world has showered her with immense love and blessings. So much so that Luna now has her own Instagram account and can be called a social media sensation!
However, Luna’s mother realised that the world can be a cruel place for someone with such a skin condition. Therefore, she flew with her daughter to Russia to get her treated by one of the best surgeons in the field.
Luna underwent one photodynamic therapy which successfully removed a part of the scar on her forehead. The procedure was allegedly painless. It will take a series of such therapy to remove her ‘Batman’ scar completely.
Luna’s mother was called “crazy” for flying her daughter halfway across the world for treatment. Seeing the results, she is now sure that she made the right decision.
