Ayushmann Khurrana Recites Heartfelt Poem, Says, “Sabhi Doctaro Ko Shat-Shat Pranaam”

On the eve of 19th March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke his Mann ki Baat and addressed the entire nation regarding the novel coronavirus. He also called for a ‘Janata Curfew’ on Sunday.

Although the voluntary curfew was a hit across some states, there were also those who flouted it. And since people stayed at home all day, it positively impacted the environment. One could hear the birds chirping at nine in the morning and pollution levels were considerably low across the country.

And as requested by the PM, the citizens thanked the medical, transport and delivery workers in the evening. Elated by the collective efforts of people across the country, actor Ayushmann Khurrana took to social media and posted a poem on the same, reported HT.

In the video, he’s seen reciting the poem from his balcony. He started the poem with, “Ladies and gentleman, what I witnessed at 5’o clock was pretty historical. I think it was a great example of human bonding, the human spirit. We are all together in this.”

His poem loosely translates to:

“Toh aaj merey pass koi shabd nhi hai,
Aaj koi kavita uplabdh nahi hai.
In taliyo ki goonj aur shankh naad,
5 minute k liye kardiya is band saamar-usthalabad.
Aaj shehar ka pradooshan AQI par 50 hai,
Yahan k pashu-pakshi pehle se zyada khush mijaaz hai.
Sabhi chikitsako aur doctaro ko shat-shat pranaam hai,
Is bimari ko ladney me kya Hindu kya Musalmaan hai.
Aaj desh ka manushya lockdown se utna hat-prabh nhi hai,
Aaj merey pass koi shabdh nhi hai, aaj koi kavita uplabdh nahi hai.”

He also came to his balcony to thank the people during the curfew.

While some people across the country adhered to the ‘Janata Curfew’, others came out of their houses at 5 pm and crowded the streets ruining the entire purpose of the curfew.

As of now, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has reportedly reached 425 with 8 people succumbing to the virus. Many cities are also put under lockdown. We hope people co-operate governments and strictly adhere to their guidelines. This is no joke, guys, so stay at home and stay safe.
