Bengaluru Auto Driver Shivakumar Is An RJ, Writer, NGO Founder And Has Also Won 31 Awards!

At first glance, Shivakumar G.C.’s auto will look like any other regular Indian auto-rickshaw decked up and highlighted and made colorful to catch your attention.

But, once you take a ride, that’s when you realize that the auto driver hides a lot of secrets, the biggest one being the driver himself.

Meet Shivakumar G.C., the auto driver fro Bengaluru whose many talents have not just won him praises and accolades but a lot of respect among people as well.

For Shivakumar, driving an auto is just a part of the job. Being honest with and winning hearts of passengers is another thing he keeps in mind. He keeps a full fledged library in his auto for passengers to while away their time.

And not just that, he even has a first-aid kit, gives discounts to senior citizens, students, relatives of defense personnel and never charges any extra money be it any season of the year or any situation.

 

50-year-old Shivakumar has been driving an auto for the past 23 years. He also has 31 awards to his name.

Most of his awards are from the Bengaluru city police for his honest and impressive behavior and for returning valuables to passengers. Shivakumar says, “My passengers have made me famous. I sometimes feel like Aamir Khan or Salman Khan just by the way people treat me” when passengers click pictures with him and his auto. Although he feels he is just “doing his duty”.

 

But do you know what the fun part is? He is not just an auto driver but turns Radio Jockey twice a week and hosts a show for Radio Active.

People know him and recognize him as an RJ and love his show as well.

 

And that is not all. Shivakumar is also a writer and has written 1500 poems so far despite being a class 8 dropout.

He believes in helping students from poor economic backgrounds get proper education

 

Shivakumar, popularly known as Auto-Shivu in Bengaluru, Gurukul Seva Trust to provide books and uniforms worth ₹ 1 lakh to poor and needy students.

He says, “To spread this message, I have written short poems and printed posters that talk of the teacher student relationship. I have distributed posters to over 1,500 government and private schools.”

 

He has even covered his auto-rickshaw in pictures of famous people who inspire him and his life.
