We all know online shopping can be tricky. One day you might grab a wonderful bargain, other days you might receive a package filled with bricks when all you ordered was a mobile phone. But it seldom happens that we receive our along with an additional surprise gift, right? Well, in this case, an Austrian couple luckily received their shipment, but what they got along with it left them flabbergasted.
According to reports, a middle-aged couple who lives in Australia bought some clothes from a Swedish website. But they were surprised to receive the shipment along with another box full of ecstasy pills, 24,800 of them to be precise. The couple immediately did the smartest thing and informed the local police of the surprise package.
As described by the local police, they received two packages after a while. One contained the clothes they bought and another 24,800 pills of ecstasy. The ecstasy pills are estimated for a value in the black market of about 500,000 euros (Rs. 3.8 crores approx.).
The police informed that the couple accepted both packages but were surprised by the weight of one of them. While the woman believed that the pills were actually pink decorative stones, the husband soon suspected that this was some kind of drug, which is when they called the police.
Reportedly, the police discovered that the package actually arrived by mistake in Austria and its original destination was an address from Scotland. They were eventually able to arrest the person to whom the package was addressed.
