Indian columnist and novelist, Shobhaa De is no stranger to scandal. Commonly known as the “Jackie Collins of India,” her work often creates quite a stir. Yet you can’t deny that her musings are usually 100% original!
But plagiarism in any form is a sin in media. And when it comes from a renowned columnist like Shobhaa De, hell breaks loose. Don’t believe us? Read on!
Shobhaa De was recently called out for ‘copying’ the post by comedian Atul Khatri which he had penned on the Kashmir Article 370 issue. He has written a long post sharing his views on scrapping of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir.
“Dear Amit Shah, Now that you have solved the Kashmir problem can you please remove some time and also resolve the Saki Naka traffic problem which is going on also since 1947. Regards, Akkha Mumbai,” he wrote.

Looks like, De too wanted to bring the same issue to the government’s notice so she penned or may be copied Atul’s post and shared it on her Twitter handle.
“Dear Amit Shah, now that you have solved the Kashmir problem can you please take some time out and also resolve the Saki Naka traffic problem which is going on also since 1947. Regards, Akkha Mumbai,” reads her tweet. But she tweeted at 7 pm on August 5, while Khatri had shared it at 1 pm on the same day.

Atul was quick to notice the drastic similarities between his own post and De’s tweet and called her out for plagiarism.

Twitterati jumped in support of Atul and slammed De questioning her ‘writing skills’.
Is she actually a writer?

However, Shobha De has always controversy’s favourite child! Let’s wait and watch if she has an explanation for these allegations.
