Assam’s ‘Kissing Baba’ Arrested For Fooling Female Devotees With “Chamatkari Chumban” Cures

India is a land of millions of superstitions and more self-proclaimed godmen than we can count. If one gets busted for whatever antics he is up to, ten others pop up in that place. And the main problem is, despite being aware of countless such people turning out to be frauds, the general public still fall for it.

Day by day the kind of superpowers these magical babas claim to have get even more ridiculous. While one claims to have the powers of a computer, another recommends a vasectomy for eternal life.

Get ready to add one more to the mix of babas who got busted, with the “Kissing Baba” from Assam.

Ram Prakash Chauhan aka the Kissing Baba, was arrested on Wednesday by police in central Assam’s Morigaon district. The Kissing Baba got his name for his chamatkari chumban that has supernatural powers to cure physical and psychological problems in women.

He rose to fame among the people after building a temple in the district’s Bhoraltup village 3 months ago and claimed to possess aforementioned powers.

J. Bora, head of the Morigaon police team that arrested Chauhan said:

“We arrested him after receiving complaints that he was hugging and kissing women as some kind of therapy. He was exploiting his devotees, especially women.”

Apart from claiming to heal physical and psychological ailments with his magical kiss, the baba also promised to solve marital discord with his supernatural powers. Police have also arrested his mother for spreading news of her son’s supposed superpowers acquired from the Lord Vishnu that could be transmitted in the form of kisses for women seeking any cure.
