Kuch toh trolls kahenge, trolls ka kaam hai kehna. No one knows this better than power couple Virat Koli and Anushka Sharma who are often the target of such trolls. A while ago, the Indian skipper drew flak for praising his wife’s movie ‘Zero’. The actress too has faced backlash time and again for things that happen in the cricketing world.
R. Ashwin’s wife, Prithi, is the latest victim of trolling after last night’s ‘Mankad’ dismissal of batsman Jos Buttler during an IPL match in Jaipur. What’s worse is that they didn’t even spare his daughters!
So callled ‘spirited’ cricket fans commenting on Ashwin’s wife’s insta account to their kids .. where is spirit of life gone guys?? How disgraceful! pic.twitter.com/UeDhkSvfpO

Instead of indulging in a healthy debate around the third umpire’s decision, law 41.16 or the spirit of cricket, people took to harassing R.Ashwin’s family on social media. Many people posted hateful comments on Prithi’s Instagram photos and also on her Twitter handle. Her kid’s picture was inundated with statements like ‘daughter of a cheater’.
Prithi was unimpressed by all the negativity and questioned the logic behind involving her kids in the matter.
Said it too soon. Makkus are leaving messages to my babies on my pictures. Excellent. How so much intelligence and all?

She also disabled comments on her Instagram posts and shared this message to shut down the trolls.
There are rules. And cameras. Now stop spamming my mentions and do it on Ashwin’s timeline. Also, Awwwwww Ankit . 💖

While internet trolling is something all of us have to live with, unfortunately, this disturbing trend of them crossing personal boundaries needs to stop.
