Arijit Singh Pays Heartfelt Tribute To KK At Vancouver Concert, Sings ‘Yaaron Dosti’ On Piano

Arijit Singh and KK’s association goes long back. It was in 2005 that Singh was a contestant at Fame Gurukul where KK was the judge. Even though Singh didn’t win the competition, KK had told him that a bigger stage awaits him and that his journey has just begun. And so it did.

Arijit Singh is currently one of the best and highest-paid playback singers in the country with a massive fan following that stretches beyond borders. His recent concerts in various parts of the US are proof. Jam-packed stadiums with thousands in the audience, a world-class entourage and his non-stop classic hits – his concerts are out of a dream.

In one such concert that took place in Vancouver recently, Arijit Singh paid a heartfelt tribute to KK, who passed away at the age of 53 a few days back.

Taking to the piano, Singh went on to express what KK meant to him. He said, “KK was a part of my life, and I started my journey when he was the judge. It’s not really easy to cope with what happened. It’s still not easy.”

“I’ve learnt my range, my throw, how to learn a song, how to be confident about your voice and focus your emotions, mostly those tricks in playback I’ve learnt from him in my initial stage,” he said.

He went on to sing ‘Tum Hi Ho’ and ‘Hamdard’ but then surprised the audience by singing ‘Yaaron Dosti’. The audience too joined in and broke into applause.

It was such a magical moment. Here’s a video from the incident:

This is the legacy that KK has left behind. His songs will live forever.
