Aparshakti Khurana Enjoys “Best Matar Paneer Ever” At Baba Ka Dhaba, Urges Others To Eat There

Married at 5 to success at 80, Baba Ka Dhaba’s elderly couple shared their hopeful journey after customers thronged their eatery after a video of their struggles went viral.

As per a report in TOI, actor Aparshakti Khurana is the latest to pay a visit to Baba ka Dhaba in Malviya Nagar, New Delhi. He took to Instagram to post a photo of himself posing with Baba and YouTube blogger Gaurav Wasan, who had initially showcased the plight of the elderly couple running the small Dhaba. Check it out:

Aparshakti opened up about his experience in detail, Zee News reports. He said, “It was an amazing experience to eat at Baba ka Dhaba. Baba was happily feeding everyone. He is so pure. People were blessing him a lot. I had matar paneer there and it was so tasty. Baba’s reaction was amazing. He is so cute! His smile is worth a million dollars.”

Talking about his food, he exclaimed, “Sab khatam ho gaya tha!” He further added, “I genuinely feel very happy to say that Baba Ka Dhaba is a place where you have to wait and often, it will be all sold-out. When Gaurav had first covered this place, I had promised him that whenever I am in Delhi, I will visit the dhaba with him. I kept my word on this recent trip. I can’t begin to describe how good the food was. I don’t remember the last time I had five rotis for lunch. The matar paneer was reminiscent of my granny’s cooking. I could only get so much. Baaki to ji sab khatam ho gaya tha!”

He also talked about Mukul and Tushant, two boys who have been helping the couple for weeks now. He explained, “It’s no big deal that I went there and I ate and took a picture. The bigger deal is what those two boys are doing. They are wholeheartedly dedicating time to this couple at the dhaba, helping them with the work because the place is full from morning to night. And this couple does not want charity. They want to work and earn. Imagine how hard the man must have worked for 60-70 years in his life to finally get some recognition for his craft at 80. They don’t want donations. They just want people to come and eat at their joint and pay them for their hard work. I have immense respect for them, for their spirit and their passion to earn what they get.”

Finally, he requested people to simply “eat” and spend quality time with Baba and his wife, instead of just donating money to them. He said, “I don’t believe too much in charity. Honestly speaking, I went there to eat and meet Baba. I would also request other people to visit Baba ka Dhaba to eat there rather than just donate money. Those people love to earn money through hard work — that’s what Baba said.”
