When it comes to celebrity couples, the names of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are quite a phenomenon in India, and why not? They bring together two things India loves most – Cricket and Bollywood. In a recent interview, Anushka spoke of people might believe that an actress getting married at 29 is a rare thing, but that she did it because she was in love.
Anushka revealed that despite her career being busy at the time, she chose to get married.
“I got married at 29, supposedly young for an actress. I did it because I was in love. And I am in love. Marriage was a natural progression.”
When asked about people’s reactions, she added –
“Our audience is way more evolved than our industry is. Audiences are just interested in seeing actors on screen. They don’t care about your personal lives, whether you’re married or whether you’re a mother. We need to get out of this headspace.”
The actress also added that while a man never worries about his career when getting married, why should a woman?
She also revealed that the reason Virat and her clicked so well, was because they shared a common virtue with each other – honesty. She added –
“His honesty is something I deeply value. I’m an honest person and have suffered on account of that. He’s brutally honest too. I’m so happy that I met someone like him because we both lead our lives with complete honesty.”
The love story of Virat and Anushka isn’t just something out of a fairy tale, it’s also what many deem real-life couple goals today. The support they have shown during each other’s professional highs and lows is commendable.
