Anukreethy Vas’ Winning Answer In The Miss India Q&A Round Is A Life Lesson In Itself

What people love the most about beauty pageants is the glamour and extravagance of it all. Though, doesn’t it ever make you wonder, how does one decide which amongst this swarm of breathtakingly beautiful people deserved to win the crown? But when the Q&A round comes up, you realise that these answers play a huge part in determining the answer to the earlier question.

This week, 19-year-old Tamil Nadu student Anukreethy Vas was crowned Femina Miss India 2018.

The dusky beauty, along with the runner ups, Meenakshi Chaudhary, 21, from Haryana and Shreya Rao Kamavarapu, 23, from Andhra Pradesh, were chosen from amongst a throng of beauties by a panel of judges that included Malaika Arora, cricketers Irfan Pathan and K L Rahul, fashion designer Gaurav Gupta, and Bollywood actors Bobby Deol and Kunal Kapoor.

So what was it that sealed the deal for these esteemed judges, that Anukreethy Vas was the one? Well, it’s got to be her winner of an answer!

Host Ayushmann Khurrana posed the same question to the Top 5 contestants, “Who is a better teacher in life: success or failure?” And Anukreethy’s answer was quite on point!

Quite wisely, Anukreethy declared ‘failure’ as the better teacher, and spoke about how, in her life, failure was what motivated her to keep going.

“Not even a single person was there to support me other than my mother and I feel only the failures, the criticism I have gone through have brought me up as a confident and independent woman in this society.”
