Ankita Lokhande Opens Up About Going Through Depression: “There Was No One With Me”

Ever since ‘Kai Po Che’ actor Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide, his former girlfriend and actor Ankita Lokhande has been actively fighting to get to the bottom of the investigation. However, she has been receiving a lot of trolling and backlash online for deciding to move on in her life.

Addressing the issue and opening up about going through depression, the ‘Pavitra Rishta’ actor posted a video, reported Hindustan Times. She opened the video saying that she has been feeling low for the past two days. However, she thinks that only we can bring positivity into our lives. “I post a lot of reels and dance videos to keep myself motivated, however, I have been receiving a lot of nasty comments on them.”

She added in Hindi, “If you people really have a problem with that then you shouldn’t follow me. I’m speaking for you. If you don’t like me please don’t follow me. Even I don’t follow things I don’t like, but I don’t negatively comment on them. It’s really important to know how we can save our energy.”

She further said that she makes the dance videos because she likes them. But she has been terribly abused for that. “More than me, it affects my parents since they don’t belong to the industry.”

Opening up about her break up with Sushant a couple of years ago, she said, “I would like to say that no one can judge someone’s else’s relationship neither do they have the right to point fingers at them because most of them don’t even know about it.”

“And if you were so concerned about the relationship then where were you then when things were falling apart? Why have you decided to talk now? Today, I am being blamed (for their separation) but I am not wrong. Everyone has their motives in life. Sushant always wanted to grow in his life and he went on his way. But for that, why am I being trolled and ridiculed? You don’t know my story and neither I am going to tell you. So, stop blaming me. It’s really hurtful.”

Ankita said that she has been through a rough patch in her life too. “I have also been through depression but I haven’t spoken or expressed about it in public. Even I was suffering and there was no one with me apart from my family and some fans who are still with me and I respect that.”

She reiterated, “But people who don’t like me, please unfollow me, but stop blaming me for everything. I wasn’t there in someone’s (Sushant) life for so long. However, I had some responsibilities towards him and I have fulfilled them. I really hope you understand and stop abusing people online without knowing about them. It’s wrong.”

She added, “You won’t get anything by blaming me because I was probably the first one to stand with you in this fight. You can’t tell me who should I be in a relationship with or with whom should I talk. You can do whatever you want. But I’ll say that love is the most powerful thing in the world. You need to understand what that person (Sushant) mattered to us. If you keep abusing their people then it’s not fair.”

Most of us probably don’t think before dropping down nasty derogatory comments on celebs’ timelines, sometimes for no reason at all. But that might affect them deeply. How about being a little more sensitive and compassionate towards people?
