While we’re never irked without a reason, anger often leads to unnecessary loss and destruction (think Hulk rage). We often land ourselves in more trouble by reacting to situations when we are agitated. But one angry seal invariably solved a crime with his rage and helped the Australian police.
Here’s how:
The Australian police were alerted of the crime after a British and a French national were found hiding out on an island last week with nearly $688,000 (4.87 crores approx.) of illicit drugs. The suspects reached the island with the help of an inflatable dinghy after their yacht grounded after hitting an island reef off Western Australia.
According to BBC, a rescue operation was then launched after the police spotted the yacht. Two suspected criminals, Antoine Dicenta (51) from France and Graham Palmer (34) from Britain apprehended on the island since a large seal had been blocking their escape.
Disturbed by the intruder’s activities while he was resting, the seal became quite agitated and put it’s ‘big chest out and bellowed at them’.
“They woke it up and it jumped up with its big chest out and bellowed at them. The guys basically had the choice of going through the seal or getting arrested and they ended up choosing getting arrested,” said Damien Healy, Geraldton Volunteer Marine Rescue Service vice-commander.
The giant seal, angry at being disturbed, has helped the Australian police bust a massive international drug syndicate. The cops managed to seize over a tonne of drugs all thanks to the angry mammal! Animals are just the best, aren’t they?
