Epilogue Of American Author’s Book Has Uncanny Resemblance With ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’

There is no arguing the fact that ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ influenced an entire generation. Every guy wanted to be ‘cool’ like SRK and roam around in GAP sweatshirts, and every girl either wanted to be smoking hot yet sanskari like Tina or a total badass tomboy like Anjali. We hear the songs of the film even today and almost have the dialogues memorised by heart.

And it’s not just us. Seems like the American author, Taylor Jenkin Reids, was influenced by ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ too because the epilogue of her book, ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’, has an uncanny similarity with the part of the film where Anjali reads a letter by Tina asking her to unite her father Rahul and his best friend Anjali.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

So in the book, the character Camila Dunne writes to her daughters Julia, Susana and Maria and asks them to request their dad to call a woman named ‘Daisy Jones’.

“Tell your father I said at the very least, the two of them owe me a song,” the letter read.

Did that strike a chord?

This excerpt from the book was shared by a Twitter user (@apparitionnow) who joked that the author must have been inspired by Karan Johar’s film.

And it did strike a chord with several people online who gasped at the similarity! Here’s how some of them responded:

This makes me oddly excited for some reason! 😛
