Just like Maggi is synonymous with instant ramen noodles and Google is synonymous with search engines, popular e-commerce website Amazon is fast becoming a substitute for the word ‘marketplace’. Be it electronic appliances, apparels, footwear or gardening supplies, it has become a one-stop shop for all our shopping needs.
On 22 May, the company held its Annual Shareholder Meeting in Seattle. The focus of the event was to discuss climate change and pay parity but things took an unusual turn during the Question and Answer session with CEO Jeff Bezos.
A shareholder of Amazon asked the richest man in the world if he could help with the return of her item.
Amazon shareholder attempts to return item at annual meeting, saying she had tried without luck four times. Says @jeffbezos: "My apologies that you had to use this unusual venue to accomplish what should have been a routine task. Anybody else have anything they need to return?"

According to Business Insider, Mr. Bezos asked the woman to stay until the end of the meeting and assured her that someone will help her out and also look into why she couldn’t return the item through the website. He also apologized to her and asked if anyone else wanted to return packages.
Netizens were impressed by the way the CEO handled the situation.

Wow…..that was a world class response from @JeffBezos to a customer query/request for assistance; and he was super professional about it. I bet Amazon’s VP or Senior VP who provided a less than professional response to a complaint/suggestion from ICE-T could learn fr Mr. Bezos
