Despite the many privileges that come with the title, the life of a ‘star kid’ is not easy. Imagine growing up with hundreds of cameras on your face, the paparazzi monitoring your every move and the internet judging you for every word you say. The incessant social media trolling and scrutiny can get on their nerves.
Hence, Alia Bhatt, who recently gave birth to a baby girl, is concerned about raising her daughter, who is now named ‘Raha’, in the public eye. In a recent interview with Marie Claire, she poured her heart out about it.
“I am a little concerned about bringing up a child in the public eye,” she said.

Alia thinks that it is she who has chosen the path of stardom and that her child should not have to endure its repercussions because it’s not the path that she has chosen for herself.
“I talk about it with my friends, with my family, and my husband a lot. I don’t want there to be a, sort of, intrusion into my child’s life. Because at the end of the day, I have chosen this path, but maybe my child may not want to choose this path when he or she grows up…so that’s something that I feel very protective about.”

When asked about the possibility of her daughter wanting to pursue acting in the future, she said that it’s not something she can prepare for and that it’s best to keep the slate “blank” for the child.
“I don’t think that’s something that I can really prepare and plan for. I don’t want to have any fixed ideas of how I want that to be. Because why should I have any expectations and then be met with any disappointment or elation or anything of that sort? So they need the slate blank, a bit.”
Parenting might be beautiful, but it is indeed a tough journey.
