It seems like the wedding season has still not come to an end ever since it began with the grand Virushka wedding. A series of celebrity weddings followed ever since and we just can’t keep up with all the love that’s floating in the air. But then again, seeing all of it just makes me mushier, you know?
Rumours of Mukesh Ambani’s son getting married to diamantaire Russell Mehta’s daughter were rife for a while now. Turns out, they weren’t just baseless rumours after all.
Akash Ambani proposed to childhood sweetheart and schoolmate, Shloka Mehta in Goa on Saturday, 24th March. The wedding is set to take place later this year.
As per The Indian Express, Akash and Shloka attended the Dhirubhai Ambani International School and have known each other for years. Even the families are well acquainted with each other. After school, Akash went on to study at Brown University, an Ivy League college in Rhode Island, whereas Shloka attended Princeton University.
Akash Ambani is on the board of Reliance Jio and Shloka is a Director with Rosy Blue Foundation, Russell Mehta diamond company.
Akash proposed to Shloka on Saturday and the families joined in later for a small private celebration. A formal engagement is set to take place in June. The Ambani family visited the Siddhivinayak temple on Sunday and Shloka accompanied them too.
