‘Buddhi’, ‘Botox Face’: How Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Became A Victim Of Age-Shaming Post Cannes

‘Buddha’, Behenji’, ‘Aunty ji’, ‘Uncle ji’ are some of the common titles we get the moment we start ‘looking’ our age. Everyone ages and the bodily changes become evident with every passing year. But those who stay in the limelight are expected to be ageless and look like their younger self, forever. But is it possible? You know the answer.

Earlier, when Kareena Kapoor Khan walked the red carpet for Lakme Fashion Week, people nastily trolled her for her post-childbirth weight gain.

This time around it’s Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who is being called names after her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival 2022 and that’s uncalled for.

Yes, she looks different and nothing like the young Aish. But that’s how aging works, right? But were people considerate of this fact? No, not all, and hence, they insensitively took jibes at her appearance.

This is what they said:

Age-shaming is a common practice that has been plaguing Bollywood for ages. Remember how 1984 magazine doubted Rekha’s career on turning 30? Even veteran actor Sharat Saxena said that it’s a crime to be old in Bollywood.

To those keyboard warriors, commenting on everyone’s appearances without being considerate, have you ever thought about how would you look when you turn their age? Pretty different from now, right? That’s the point!
