AI Lifts Ban On Gaikwad Even After He Refused To Apologise. What Are We Teaching Our Kids?

Good manners like ‘thank you’ and ‘sorry’ go along way in making life easier.

Or you can just threaten the national airline company that no flights will be allowed to take off. Yeah, that kind of goondaism works too.

And, no, it’s not the VIP or VVIP culture. This is the lack of basic human manners that keeps the society from spiralling into lawlessness.

After creating a social media storm by slapping an Air India staffer 25 times with his sandal, Ravindra Gaikwad adamantly refused to apologise to the 60-year old man.

After Air India canceled his tickets 6 times and he realised that traveling on trains was beneath him, he finally gave in and wrote a ‘letter of regret’ to the Aviation Ministry while still maintaining that he will not apologise.

Mind you, while he apologised and gave the letter, a Shiv Sena MP tried to beat up the Aviation Minister, Ashok Gajapthi Raju in a fit of rage in Lok Sabha.

Not to mention that Shiv Sena threatened to disrupt flights taking off from Mumbai.

What can our national airlines do against a regional party that has an incredible 15 seats in Lok Sabha out of a mere 545? They went into damage control and lifted the ban on Ravindra Gaikwad.

Passenger safety be damned. Air India employee safety be damned.

All the other private airlines that banned him are expected to follow suit.

And that’s your lesson, kids. If you are powerful enough, you can slap a person 25 times with your slipper and get away with it. No apologies are required. The nation’s taxpayer will continue to pay for your business class tickets.

Awesome.
