With Navratri, the country kick-started the festive season with much pomp. However, some of us forgot that we are in the middle of a pandemic that has already claimed scores of lives across the world. Furthermore, there has been a 30% rise in the number of new COVID-19 cases since the Diwali weekend, reported Business Insider.
Gujarat’s Ahmedabad was among the many cities that saw a spike in the number of new coronavirus cases. According to The Times Of India, the city recorded 230 cases on Thursday, a number that was earlier recorded nearly five months ago. Moreover, private hospitals are running full-on capacity.
Therefore, looking at the sudden spike, the state government decided to impose a curfew in the city from 9 pm on Friday night (November 20) till 6 am on Monday morning (November 23).
