Afghani Singer Rocks The Internet With His Striking Resemblance To Justin Trudeau

Bollywood is obsessed with the idea of long-lost twins coming out of nowhere. At this point, I’ve seen so many iterations of ‘Karz’ that I’m convinced that if someone kills me, an alternate version of mine will arrive from New Zealand to avenge me.

Now, while the chances of that happening is slim to none, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau has nothing to worry about, in case he’s wronged in any way.

Recently, the internet discovered an Afghan talent contestant bearing a striking resemblance to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. And that fact has turned him from a relative unknown to the show’s most popular product

His name is Abdul Salam Maftoon and he’s a wedding singer from a village in the northeastern province of Badakshshan. And while the internet is losing its mind, he is just learning about the existence of Justin Trudeau.

According to NDTV, Maftoon said that,

People have forgotten my name and now they just call me ‘Justin Trudeau’. I didn’t know anything about Justin Trudeau until I saw the photos on social media. The resemblance has boosted my chances of winning the competition by 50 percent.”

The first person to point out Maftoon and Trudeau’s matching features, Afghan-born Canadian musician Qais Ulfat, has dubbed him as the next Justin Bieber. And if you think that’s too much, check out the internet’s reaction to this doppelganger.

However, Maftoon is happy with the fact that after relying on singing and playing instruments at weddings and birthday parties, his newfound fame will boost his demand. And that’ll allow him to support his wife and four children better. He said,

“When I go back to my hometown people will definitely call me.”

In addition to that, Maftoon has expressed his interest to meet Trudeau. He said,

“I want to meet him if he wants to because he is a global personality and I am a poor man from a remote part of Afghanistan. We will see what happens.”
