Amidst all the hue and cry that we fight on a daily basis, there are things that just brightens up my day! I’m going to share one of those.
Remember the Afghan kid who became an overnight internet sensation after he was photographed with a Lionel Messi jersey made from a plastic bag?
Yes, the same kid who touched millions of hearts with his innocence. Well, he is back and this time the pictures will tear you up but for a better reason.
Murtaza Ahmadi now, almost 11 months later, has finally met his idol, Messi in Doha Qatar in what can be called as the happiest day of his life. Qatar’s World Cup 2022 organising committee Tweeted the moment of joy! Check out the videos.

The Barcelona team is in Qatar to play in an exhibition match against Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. And the meeting between both was arranged by through the UN refugee agency, UNHCR.
Later, the kid also dressed up as the lucky mascot for the team and posed for pictures from the field ahead of the match.Â

Earlier, in February, Ahmadi was given two autographed shirts and a signed football from Messi by UNICEF workers that had us all, in awe.Â
I don’t know about you but my faith in humanity is restored! Also, who doesn’t love Messi!
