Nirbhaya Rapist’s Lawyer Questions Victim’s Character, Asks Why She Was Out Past Midnight

After waiting for 7 long years, the four convicts in the 2012 Nirbhaya case were hanged at Tihar Jail by hangman Pawan Jallad today at 5.30 am. Justice was finally served and Adv Seema Khushwaha and Nirbhaya’s parents were applauded for their unshattered will and determination for fighting this long battle.

However, after losing the case, Nirbhaya’s rapists’ lawyer, Adv AP Singh made controversial statements over Nirbhaya’s character, reported TOI.

While speaking to media AP Singh said:

“Ask her (nirbhaya’s) mother why she didn’t know where her daughter was till midnight, with whom and at what condition.”

He also advocated for one of the convicts, Pawan Gupta whose mercy plea was rejected by the President. He said, “Pawan’s mother is handicapped, she wants to meet her son. She’s kept him in her womb for nine months, you should understand the emotions of this mother. You have been doing everything you could for one mother, but no one’s thinking about his mother.”

Justice was delayed in this case because Adv AP Singh did all he could to protect his clients- the convicts of this heinous crime. However, raising doubts about the character of a gang rape and murder victim is utterly shameful. What do you think of his opinion? Tell us.
