If you ever want to test your tolerance threshold for BS, get on Twitter and express your opinion. That’s it! You’ll ‘trigger’ the ‘experts’ who will employ the hands-on approach of trashing you for doing so. And depending on how easily you’re prompted to give it back to them will give you your answer. Recently, something similar happened with actress Aditi Rao Hydari and a Bollywood fan.
As you know, Aditi Rao Hydari played the beautiful wife of Ranveer Singh’s Alauddin Khilji, the Mallika-e-Jahaan Mehrunissa in Padmaavat.
Despite her small role, Aditi seems to have made an impression on the movie’s audience who has been constantly singing her praises on social media since the movie’s release.
For her part, the actress has been personally replying to most of these fan tweets, making sure she thanks them for their kind and encouraging words.
You’d think that’s sweet, right? Fans love it when their favourite celebs tweet back to them and Aditi’s prompt replies to her fans could only have strengthened their love and loyalty towards her.
Which is probably why when a ‘die-hard Bollywood fan’ (it says so in her bio) decided to share her not-so-agreeable opinion about Aditi’s performance, things got a little tense.
Twitter user @ishikasing wrote about how Aditi’s constant RT-ing of her fans’ tweets about her performance led her to believe that the actress was extraordinary in the movie. However, she was eventually disappointed.
Seeing so many RTs frm @aditiraohydari I really thought she has nailed something bigger in @filmpadmaavat . Bt honestly it ws sucha ordinary performance. Sry disappointed esp aftr seeing every RT of hers.

Now what do you think happened after? For the most part, the user got trolled by Aditi fans, most of whom defended their favourite actor’s performance. At one point, some of them even alleged that @ishikasing was ‘an insecure DP fan’ (DP = Deepika Padukone)!
This triggered @ishikasing to further enunciate her point.
Of course it wouldn’t affect. Jim Sarbh’s role was also a small one bt he was beyond perfection. In that line I didn’t find Aditi’s top notch. Bt there were many appreciations which made me expect more. So I think I hav the right 2 b disappointed

Aditi Rao Hydari, who as we now know, promptly replies to her fans or critics alike, replied to the tweet, explaining her reason for RT-ing and replying to her fans’ appreciation tweets.
I think maybe what you’re failing to see since you’re so consumed by your epic disappointment is that when people take the time to write and send me love, I like to send them back love and thank them… maybe this understanding is beyond your depth… 😊🙏🏻

Makes sense?
Her fans sure rallied in support, applauding Aditi for gracefully handling the critique.
Loyal fans having her back!

Now let’s look at both sides of the coin fairly, shall we?
It is Aditi’s prerogative to retweet and reply to every single fan’s tweets. That is her choice, and those who do not agree with it have the choice to unfollow her. That being said, the Twitter user too had a right to express her opinion, whether negative or positive.
A celeb’s loyal fandom trolling a mere inconsequential opinion does more harm than good, turning the critic even more against the actor. Which defeats the initial purpose, don’t you think?
