Women Show Off Their Legs Online After 18-YO Actress Gets Shamed For Wearing Shorts

The internet isn’t a safe space for many women. Incidents like an online teacher getting sexualised and objectified under the comment section of her video to Fatima Sana Shaikh being slut-shamed for wearing a bikini, social media can many a time subject women to incessant harassment for being themselves.

For example, an 18-year-old Malayali actress, Anaswara Rajan, was recently a victim to online slut-shaming for posting a picture wearing shorts, reports News18. Comments included ones which asked her to post pictures without wearing clothes for more likes. A few others asked why she was taking off her clothes at such a young age.

Anaswara Rajan, however, responded to these comments in another post wherein she is seen wearing the same pair of shorts. She writes, “Don’t worry about what I’m doing. Worry about why you’re worried about what I’m doing.”

Slamming trolls who shamed the actress for showing her legs, several actresses and women came forward showing support and posted pictures of themselves showing off their legs. This ignited a social media movement and soon, #WomenHaveLegs started to trend online.

Judging a woman based on what she chooses to wear and cat-calling, slut-shaming, and harassing for it is downright shameful. It’s people’s thoughts that need changing, not a woman’s clothes.
