Some Bollywood celebrities have shown their love and care for the environment in the past, and it is nothing short of inspirational. For instance, Anushka Sharma vowed to protect mother nature on World Nature Conservation Day, and Juhi Chawla planted 1,000 trees. Another actor has now joined the list.
As per a report in TOI, ‘Baahubali’ actor Prabhas adopted 1,650 acres of Khazipally reserve forest land which is on the Outer Ring Road near Dundigal, 20 km away from Hyderabad. He also donated Rs. 2 crores to the forest officials for the development of an eco-park in the name of his late father Uppalapati Surya Narayana Raju. He also thanked the Telangana government for their support.

As per The Tribune, the actor laid the foundation stone for an urban forest and eco-park along with the help of Telangana Forest Minister Allola Indra Karan Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar, and a few other public representatives. They then proceeded to observe the vast expanse of the forest through a temporary watchtower and also planted a few saplings in the reserve forest region.

Located on the outskirts of Hyderabad, the Khazipally reserve forest area is best known for its medicinal plants, India Today reports.
The Forest Department will first fence the entire 1,650 acres, and then convert a portion of the forest into an urban eco-park while the rest of the forest will be rejuvenated and kept as a conservation zone. Reportedly, in the first phase of the project, a park gate, see-through wall, walking track, viewpoint, gazebo, and medicinal plant center would be constructed.
This forest will turn into an Urban Eco Park, that will be named after his father Shri UVS Raju garu.

He took to his official Instagram handle as well to put up a video of himself talking about the project and how he urged the Forest Department to develop the reserve forest further in order to create “additional lung space for the city” under the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) limits. He took up the initiative under the ‘#GreenIndiaChallenge’ as displayed in the caption. Check it out:-
Previously, Prabhas had vowed to adopt 1,000 acres of land under the challenge in June 2020. At the time, he explained, “I am inspired by the Keera forest development initiative of Santosh Kumar where he adopted the forest. His philosophy and his polite manner of execution have impressed me a lot”.
Now, he has not only kept his promise and adopted a bit more than 1,000 acres, but also showed his willingness to donate more money in installments if required depending on the progress of the work, say reports.
