ABC Apologises For Quantico Episode After Backlash, Says Priyanka Chopra Unfairly Blamed

Yep, it has happened. The cycle of taking offense and issuing apologies has come in full circle for Indian fans and ABC Studios, producers of the Priyanka Chopra-starrer Quantico.

Priyanka Chopra and ABC’s Quantico recently sparked an outrage amongst Indian fans when an episode plot line showed Indian nationalists planning a terror attack in New York City to frame Pakistan.

The episode, titled ‘The Blood Of Romeo‘ received quite the hate on Twitter, and many fans felt betrayed that PC had consented to being a part of such an ‘anti-national’ and ‘nonsensical’ storyline.

However, there were those who maintained that it was, after all, merely a fictional show. Furthermore, blaming Priyanka Chopra did not make sense, since she was only an actor and it wasn’t her story to write or decision to make.

But looks like the outrage of the angered fans managed to reach the network.

ABC Studios has issued a formal apology for the episode, requesting fans to not unfairly blame Priyanka Chopra for it.

“ABC Studios and the executive producers of Quantico would like to extend an apology to our audience who were offended by the most recent episode, ‘The Blood of Romeo’.”

Quantico is a work of fiction. The show has featured antagonists of many different ethnicities and backgrounds, but in this case we inadvertently and regrettably stepped into a complex political issue. It was certainly not our intention to offend anyone.”

While this official apology seems to have satiated some, there are still those who are rallying for an apology from the actress. Now the question is, what will Alex Parrish do next? I guess we gotta wait and watch.
