Picking out a birthday gift for a one-year-old baby is not an easy task. Of course, there’s a wide variety of toys available that can make the cut (push and pull toys, building blocks, stuffed animals, musical toys, etc), but are they really that special?
Which is why Kim Chastain decided to give her daughter Gracie something different. A treasure trove of memories! She shared a post on Facebook saying,
“So, here’s a cool thing… on Gracie’s 1st birthday, I didn’t know what to get a one-year-old who had everything she needed and wouldn’t remember her birthday, anyway, so I had our friends and family put things in a time capsule for her to open on her 18th birthday. We kept it a secret all these years, and yesterday, she opened it.”

She further added, “There was an array of memorabilia from her birth year, jewelry and savings bonds, but best of all, it was filled with gifts and notes from loved ones, many of whom have since passed. It was really special ❤️”

Another great idea is to create a digital scrapbook of sorts by creating an email address for the baby and sending photos and videos to it. When the baby is old enough, they can be given the password as a gift that will unlock all the beautiful memories.
