If you’re a woman travelling alone in a train, there may have been times when you feel frightened or scared because of some other passenger. In that case, what do you do? While some may feel frightened and opt to ignore it, there’s one woman passenger who followed a different path.
Meet Namrata Mahajan, a woman passenger who sought help from none other than the Railway Minister as she was feeling scared of a male passenger!
On Thursday evening, she was travelling alone in an outstation train in Maharashtra. While passing through Shegaon railway station, she felt scared of a male passenger who seemed indecent because of his behaviour and body language.
Immediately, she tweeted this to the Railway Minister:
@RailMinIndia plz plz help in tarin no 18030 one male passanger harrassing me at shegaon I am in train terrified
— namrata mahajan (@namratamahajan1) November 26, 2015
The Central Railway chief PRO, Narendra Patil told that a senior officer named Ved Prakash, noticed that tweet and contacted him to help the woman.
Since, she had not given the full details about her train, she was asked this:
@namratamahajan1 Please contact 182 Security helpline. Also send your PNR and other details
— Ministry of Railways (@RailMinIndia) November 26, 2015
After that, she sent the PNR number and other details of the train.

To which, the Railway Ministry quickly responded:
@namratamahajan1 We have informed. Somebody will attend to you soon.
— Ministry of Railways (@RailMinIndia) November 26, 2015
As the train reached Bhusaval station in 40 minutes, she was immediately attended by RPF jawans.
Satisfied with the swift assistance, she thanked the minister.
