Woman In Delhi Stabs Boyfriend Multiple Times Over Who Will Cook The Dinner

All of us have argued over food options with our significant others, but things took a dark turn for a couple when they argued over who would cook dinner. Things escalated pretty quickly from a domestic feud to a punishable offence, when the woman stabbed her boyfriend and killed him.

The incident took place in southwest Delhi’s Uttam Nagar on Saturday evening, when a 30-year-old Nigerian man Eezu visited his girlfriend Elvi Ujumma, after which a violent argument ensued between them.

The accused, Ujumma, has claimed that the argument was over who would cook dinner and that her boyfriend, Eezu, attacked her first.

Ujumma, in an attempt to defend herself, got a kitchen knife and told Eezu to stay away from her. When Eezu did not comply, she stabbed him multiple times and locked herself in her room. On returning half an hour later, Ujumma found that Eezu was bleeding profusely. A police officer quoted her to Times Of India saying,

“I got scared on seeing him bleeding badly and called my friends. Together, we took him to hospital. Doctors, however, declared him dead on arrival.”

When Ujumma was notified about the death of Eezu, she came home and locked herself in the house.

A neighbour who had heard them arguing said,

“The man often came to the house, but I had never heard them fighting like this. After some time, I saw the woman and her friends hailing an autorickshaw and taking the man to hospital. He was bleeding badly.”

It was not long before the police were informed about the incident. An inquiry was made after which they arrived and broke down the door of the house. The accused was arrested and booked for murder.

Anger should not be allowed to convert into actions that you will regret. This incident just goes onto show how one overreaction on a small argument can change lives drastically.
