Asia’s First Vertical Forest With 3000 Plants Will Produce 60 Kg Of Oxygen EVERY DAY!

In a world full of high rise buildings, ever growing population and rising levels of pollution due to vehicles and industrial emissions, a breath of fresh air is as rare as a sunflower in the desert. Sadly, us humans have deteriorated the environment beyond repair in many parts of the world. With forest area getting lesser and lesser every year, we are trading life-giving Oxygen for materialistic luxuries.

In order to cope with ample availability of fresh air and regenerate local biodiversity in the times to come, architects are now designing ‘Vertical forests’ that will also add to the beauty of the city while serving as residential or commercial buildings.

China’s Nanjing city is going to be the first Asian city to get a vertical forest. Designed by Italian architect, Stefano Boeri. The construction of the towers will be finished by 2018.

The towers will incorporate 1100 trees and 2500 shrubs from 23 local species and will generate 60 Kg of Oxygen every day!

The taller tower will have a museum, offices, a rooftop club and a green architecture school while the smaller one will house a Hyatt hotel and a rooftop pool.

A similar vertical forest of 36 stories has been planned for Lausanne, Switzerland by the architect.

And two such forests, named ‘Bosco Verticale’ have already been built in Milan, Italy.

With growing pollution levels in Indian cities like Delhi, we need an architectural wonder like this too.
