After Meat Ban, This Amusing Online Petition Has Asked For A Vegetable Ban On Eid

The meat ban created a major buzz in India. People spoke about it with aggression and found it a violation of their rights. They thought that even though the ban was imposed keeping in mind the religious sentiments of some communities, the livelihood of many other communities was getting affected in the process.

However, this Bengaluru based filmmaker, Falah Faisal has found a cheeky angle to it. He filed a tongue in cheek petition on Change.org asking for a ban on the sale of vegetables during the Muslim Festival of Bakr-Eid.

In his petition, Faisal claims, “With the meat ban being enforced on us due to various religious reasons, I think it is only rightful for us minorities to have a say. As a Muslim, I’d like to call for a ban across the country on vegetables of all kinds of Bakr-Eid (September 25, 2015). Because plants have feelings too.”

He further takes the sarcasm to whole other level and said, “If you are someone who is a vegetarian who doesn’t eat anything but the offshoot of plants, I bet you can starve for a day. Fasting is good for you. We do it for a month every year.”

Towards the end in a happy note, he says that if his demand is unreasonable, then everyone is welcome at his place on Eid to share a plateful of mutton biryani.

He has already got 578 supporters so far and he needs 422 more people to reach 1000.

Everything apart, can someone get me his address? I can’t get mutton biryani off my mind now.
