There’s a difference between a typo and a grammatical error. (Umm, if you don’t know, kindly, look it up). Aarrggh! But aren’t both irritating?
They get on your grammar nerve, more so, if you are a Grammar Nazi.
Typos may get the benefit of the doubt, but word crimes? Nope! And, when celebrities make such mistakes, you get a ‘meh’ feeling.
Something similar happened with Varun Dhawan. The ‘Judwaa 2’ actor tweeted his two looks for the movie and asked his fans to take a pick. But, while doing so he committed a common word crime.

But Grammar Police was prompt and Varun was caught. His grammatical error was corrected, rather humbly.

Dhawan Jr realised what the mistake was and, in order to make amends, tweeted saying he messed up. Err.. you sure did, Varun. But, again!

He tweeted, “Your correct I messed up”. It should be “you’re”. “Your” is a possessive pronoun and “you’re” is a contraction of ‘you are’.
Looks like, VD’s damage control went wrong. I think, Varun took ‘Judwaa 2’ concept too seriously.
While we are waiting for ‘Grammar Police’ to act again, take a look at some of the solecism committed by others, ‘GP’ corrected,
1. She’s a NY best-selling author.

2. That’s a reporter he corrected.

4. Their, there and they’re tiff is eternal!

5. And, that solecism.

Word crimes are increasing day by day, we should appreciate Grammar Police’s efforts in safeguarding the English Language.
