UPSC Results Are Out. Women Make The Nation Proud By Securing The Top 4 Positions

While the whole country is talking about women empowerment and women safety, some women are actually making an effort to empower themselves. They are taking the reign in their own hands while inspiring the majority of women out there, that if they want to see any change happen, they need to be the catalyst for it.

In the Union Public Service Commission exams that happened on August 24, four women have topped the exam by scoring maximum marks. Ira Singhal, Renu Raj, Nidhi Gupta and Vandana Rao have secured the top 4 places respectively. The results were declared on civil services website www.upsc.gov.in, four days after the closing date of the interview.

The UPSC exams took place in 59 centres across the country in 2,137 venues with 9.45 lakh people appearing for the exams. The toppers are being wished from friends and relatives all over the country and are elated with the result that their hard work has garnered.

Ira Singhal who topped the examination is a revenue officer. She is specially abled and hails from Delhi. She told media, “I am really very happy. I can’t believe this. I just prepared for the examination. I want to be an IAS officer. I want to do something for the benefit of physically handicapped people.”

The second rank scorer, Dr Raj, who works in a hospital in Kollam took the exam for the first time. She said to the media, “I am extremely happy to know the results. I have been preparing for the exam for the last one year.”

Third Rank holder Ms Gupta, who is the Assistant Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise, said it was a proud moment for her. “I put in a lot of hard work and it paid off,” she said. The selected candidates will be filling up a total of 1364 positions of civil services.
