New York Might Get A Spectacular ‘U-Shaped’ Building And It’s Beyond Our Wildest Imagination

Think of New York City and the first thing that comes to mind is the sprawling Manhattan skyline. Those steel and concrete skyscrapers that adorn every part of the ‘Big Apple’, have made the city a picturesque man-made marvel.

And now, to add to the beauty of the city, designers have planned the longest (not ‘the tallest’) building in the world. Confused? Read on.

Oiio Studios, a globally renowned architecture firm has proposed an inverted ‘U-shaped’ building in the city. Named ‘The Big Bend’, the building, if constructed, will be the first of its kind in the world.

The building is proposed to be constructed on the 57th street of New York City.

As the building will be constructed in a U-shape, the total length (4000 ft) of the ‘Big Bend’ will be greater than that of any building in the world. It will even surpass Dubai’s ‘Burj Khalifa’ (2722 ft), the current title holder of the ‘tallest building in the world’.

The unique design by the architecture firm is also an innovative way to deal with the city’s land usage restrictions for constructing tall buildings.

“If we manage to bend our structure instead of bending the zoning rules of New York we would be able to create one of the most prestigious buildings in Manhattan.”

This is how the entrances of the building will look once it gets built.

And here is an artistic imagination of the inside of the building.

The building will certainly ‘bend’ the rules of conventional architecture.

Another reason to add New York to your bucket list.
