We have all heard about road accidents. You know the regular ones- cars, bikes, scooters and the like. However, I for one haven’t heard of this before!
A commercial plane, Pegasus Airlines Boeing 737-800 skid off the runway in Turkey. It ended up dangling on a cliff and plunged down the side just a few feet away from the Black Sea.

The incident sparked major panic among the passengers and crew members as they didn’t know what to do.
The plane had 168 passengers and crew aboard. It had flown from the Turkish capital, Ankara and had landed in Trabzon on the Black Sea late Saturday.

The cause of the incident is still being investigated, according to iTV News. However, despite the terrifying landing all on board were evacuated unharmed.
The wheels of the plane were dug into the freezing mud at the Trabzon Airport. The Trabzon governor said that a crisis desk had been set up after the accident. According to Yeni Safak, he said,

“We’ve taken all necessary measures. We will reopen the airport to air traffic as soon as possible.”
The authorities had earlier closed the airport overnight, for safety reasons.
With some photographs even showing smoke coming out of the cabin, it sure was a terrifying incident to encounter.

The incident looks horrifying and scary. But we’re glad everyone on board was unharmed and managed to make it to safety. We hope that the necessary investigations are conducted and the cause of the problem is found at the earliest.
