13 True Story Movies That Were Not Actually True At All

“Based on a true story”.

The catch in that line is the word “based” and also “true story”.

Because as soon as you change the story which was supposed to be true, it doesn’t remain a true story at all. Most of the movies based on a true story are not exactly what happened in real life.

Sometimes they make the story seem too exciting or sometimes they will omit out things that will  make the movie look bad.

Some of the most glaring errors in these movies are listed below.

1. Argo – Canada did 90% of the job, and it was not as thrilling as shown in the movie

It was actually Canada that planned the majority of the operation. Yes, the CIA was involved, but most of the heavy and risky work were done by the Canadian embassy officials.

Also, the climax, where the Iranian revolutionary guards try to chase down the plane didn’t happen at all. Everything went without a hitch. Also, it was the Canadians who bought the tickets for the Americans, and not the CIA.

If storylines are kept exactly according to facts, there will be no drama at all for us to enjoy in the cinema.

The screenwriters know all this, and hence they make tweaks in the stories so that the movies look more exciting to us.

Real life is dull, drama is what makes it interesting on the silver screen.
