You all remember the brouhaha Mr. Pahlaj Nihalani had created while he was the CBFC Chief? Well, can’t be forgotten that easily, can it? The news of him being ousted as the Chief and Prasoon Joshi replacing him became a rejoicing moment for a whole lot of people. He had told all that he would go back to his first love, i.e. making movies. And back he is!
The very first movie that Mr. Nihalani brings to his fans (if any) is an erotica, Julie 2. ? Said to be a “thriller” the film stars Raai Laxmi (it’s her debut in Bollywood, guys!) and Ravi Kishan. The film is the sequel to Deepak Shivdasani’s Julie, which featured Neha Dhupia, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Yash Tonk, Sanjay Kapoor and Achint Kaur.
Julie 2 is the story of an aspiring actor who falls into the casting couch rut of Bollywood. The one minute trailer is racy as per standards set by Mr. Nihalani (who might have done ‘tauba tauba’ had this been someone else’s film). The only question we have after watching the trailer is: Where are the sanskars, Mr. Nihalani? We are having a tough time finding them! ?
