Watch How This Thai Mom Cleared Her Cute Daughter’s Cold Using The Indian ‘Neti Kriya’

I grew up in a joint family, and my older cousin, who is currently a professional yoga instructor, used to perform a very strange Ayurvedic cleansing ritual called ‘Neti Kriya’. He used to take a small pot with a snout filled with warm salty water and pour it into one of his nostrils at an angle. The water magically used to come out of his 2nd nostril. I used to be very fascinated and ask him about this. He then told me about Neti and how it has a positive influence on all sense organs in the head.

This morning, I saw something that reminded me of Neti. This video of a Thai woman who is trying to clear her daughter’s cold by clearing the nasal mucus has gone viral on social media. The woman uses a syringe to flush water into her daughter’s nostril so that it throws all the mucus out of the other.

Although the video looks very cute, I would suggest all the viewers to not try the same with their kids as it can be dangerous if they are restless and fidgety. You saw how the kid in the video was extremely calm and hence it worked fine for her. There is a high risk of kids inhaling the water and mucus in their respiratory tract. It is also advised that Neti shouldn’t be practiced during cold.

But, this little kid seemed extremely clam and let her mother perform the procedure correctly. We hope she stays healthy and cute, like she is! 🙂
