Stolen Headphones And Littered Compartments, Tejas Express’s 1st Trip Is Downright Saddening

Tejas-Express-Damaged

The high-speed train from Mumbai to Goa, Tejas Express, has completed its first trip and it has come back littered, damaged and with fewer headphones.

Earlier it was in news because of the vandalism attack on it. And, now it has returned to Mumbai with 12 headphones missing, unclean toilets, littered compartments and damages to the infotainment touchscreen.

The train left from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus on Monday and returned from Goa on Tuesday in a state that had surprised the railway authorities. Though they had anticipated some damages, the final state of the train was a bit unexpected.

Equipped with modern amenities like automatic doors, 9-inch infotainment screens for seats, beverage vending machines, vacuum bio-toilets, touch-free water taps in toilets and more; Tejas Express runs at a speed of 200 km per hour.

A passenger, who travelled on the train the second day, told Hindustan Times that the quality of the food was bad and also that cleanliness was an issue.

“Toilets too were unclean. Attendants were ignorant. The food was not as good as during the inaugural run.”

Not only Mumbai to Goa, but news has it that authorities have plans to have a Mumbai to Ahmedabad run too. But like this? It’s a sad state and we hope necessary actions are taken soon. Why can’t we Indians cherish what’s good and keep it that way? Do these people keep their homes littered, too? Guessing the answer is no!
