“Will He Take Off His Pants If Asked?” Another Muslim Cleric On Sonu’s Bald Move!

Sonu Nigam has rightfully, stirred a storm in the country. While we have mostly heard of the ones that divide, Sonu’s early morning tweets about azaan have seemingly worked towards uniting people of the same faith and ideologies! Yes, reactions were galore and opposing, but his ‘bald’ move of shaving his head without flinching once is uniting voices against perpetual ‘noise’. 

But there’s a flip side too. The opposition is also garnering more ears and mouthpieces with each passing day. Yesterday, it was Muslim leader Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi from West Bengal (who is now asking Sonu to complete all the conditions–of parading the country with a garland of torn chappals–before claiming 10 lakh) and now it is another Imam who has joined the debate and threatened to issue a fatwa against Sonu.

 

Shahi Imam of Tipu Sultan Masjid, Syed Md Nurur Rahman Barkati, told DNA, that he supports Al Quaderi and is next in line to issue a fatwa if Sonu doesn’t hold his horses. He said,

“I fully support what Quaderi had said yesterday and if Sonu doesn’t mend his ways I would be the next one to declare a fatwa against him.”

 

He also went ahead and claimed that Sonu suffers from depression, which is why he did what he did- to attract eyes. 

“I have been told that he suffers from depression. Today he has been asked to shave his hair and he did so. Tomorrow someone will ask him to take off his pants and he will oblige.”

Seems like the matter is slowly transcending into a war of words. When will it end? Only time will tell. Meanwhile, we are wondering if Sonu has a reply to this too.
