Sonam Kapoor is a true-blue fashionista and there are no two ways about it. Be it her bold but edgy choices that complement her personality or her out-of-the-box quirks, Sonam is a head turner!
But what makes her stand or rather shine amongst others is that she is a no-bullshit person. What makes her truly the feminist of this age is her voice (an unapologetic one at that) that never thinks twice before making itself heard. And the voice that echoes our thoughts.
Well, not that I need to justify but there is an instance and it is imperative that you know.
It so happened that Sonam was recently at a public gathering, doing her job, minding her business, taking questions from the media, and the usual.
But just then, a journalist went with the old and regressive question of pitting two women against each other. She asked Sonam why she deleted the video of Deepika Padukone supporting ‘PadMan’, from her Instagram account.
Then? Then Sonam took over!
Yep, it was a lady who asked the frivolous question.
Sonam even went ahead and silenced her with her empowering words.
“Don’t create controversy where there is none. I expect a woman to support other women, not create these situations. So support other women, so we can all move forward.”
The actress even pointed out that it was a glitch with Instagram and guess what? It truly was. Here’s proof.
Now, when we put onus on celebrities to be more responsible socially, isn’t it our responsibility to push them in the right direction and not rub them the wrong way? I’m looking at you, dear friends in media.
