‘Because I Am Not Done Yet.’ This Powerful Poem Speaks For Every Soldier Who Fought At Uri

The recent Uri Attacks took from us, 17 brave jawans. This loss of life enraged the nation, and the internet exploded with demands to apprehend, arrest and purge the world of such terrorists. However, when we were made such demands, and called for war, did we ever stop to consider the life of an individual soldier who we were actually sending out into the battlefield?

This emotional poem by a soldier will certainly give you an insight into the mind of a soldier and embolden your confidence in them.

17 is a big Number… I know…especially today…when we know things are not as bad…after all I brought them to this level…
I also know today we faltered… there were mistakes… *but I am not done yet*…
Possibly, I am rightly blamed of being Complacent … forgotten the basics … poor leadership…. and may have suffered a set back at a very crucial time … *but I am not done yet*..
The churning in the society is seriously affecting me …. I am increasingly being used for political mileage … which dents my image and sometimes my confidence… *but I am not done yet*….
Today, thanks to the technology, everyone is an expert in *MY Domain* … so much that I sometimes suspect my own capabilities … sometimes my own blame me…. and some times they want to even divide us… leaders and men….. *but still, I am not done yet* …
Because when I look in the mirror … I know I AM THE BEST …
I have lost 17 of my own … but I know, ONLY I CAN HIT BACK..
We faltered and lost 17 … but only because they got lucky … how else could we have lost most to fire and not bullets … sad way for a soldier to die… but yes they got lucky … or maybe we were unlucky… but see how quickly we got them… even after having lost 17.. *which shows … I am not done yet* ..
COMPLACENT…yes possibly … but it comes from confidence..confidence of being dominant… so not a big issue…I will pull up my socks and soon give it back to those who got lucky…. *Even they know I am not done yet*
Forgotten the basics? Not really… sometimes careless yes … but I know my basics… just wait and watch…
In any case who else… is there someone better than me? Have seen many around me… *I KNOW I am the best in the world*
Poor leadership ???? Come on… possibly the only forces where officers lead from the front at all times… you know the statistics don’t you? I know there are new challenges … but we will learn … *and believe me, we learn the fastest*…
Society will change but our Ethos won’t… We will adapt and make the change….
Believe you me…
I am your best bet … In fact I am your only bet… *there is no one else*…
You may discuss…you may shout…but in your heart, you know, *I am the one you can trust*.
So leave me alone…let me do my job … won’t let you down… *BECAUSE I AM NOT DONE YET*

We rant, we complain, we demand. But who are we really? We don’t know the first thing about facing an enemy on the battlefield. So let us take a step back, gain some perspective, and let our brave warriors do their jobs.

They are not done yet!
