Singers Ankit, Shilpa Rao, Akriti Took 30 Lakh For A US Event And Didn’t Show Up. Now, Booked!

Singers in Bollywood, apart from lending their voice to actors, are high in demand for shows for which they get paid quite a huge amount of money. The organisers are dependent on singers to show up, so that they can get back a small portion of their investment they put in the shows.

However, if the singers fail to show up, things can get quite messy. This is what happened when singers Ankit Tiwari, Akriti Kakkar and Shilpa Rao were supposed to perform in a show in the United States, but allegedly failed to show up.

The three singers are alleged to have accepted the payment of Rs 30 Lakh from the firm Deep VIP Travels, who has registered a case of criminal breach of trust, against them in the Andheri magistrate court.

An officer in Oshiwara police station said that a summons will be sent to the accused and if they fail to respond within a stipulated period then the police will write to the magistrate asking for permission to trace and arrest them.

However, Shilpa Rao’s spokesperson has denied the allegations made against the singer. Moreover, brothers Ankur and Ankit Tiwari also refuted the allegations saying that they did not know the person who has filed the allegations as they have not met him in their entire life.

The singers who have given the industry soulful melodies and dance numbers seem to be in quite a bit of trouble. While it is yet to be revealed who is telling the truth in the matter, the singers sure are expected to co-operate with the police to get justice.
