Watch This Video Of An Army Officer Being Rescued From Siachen Avalanche, After 6 Days

On February 3, 2016, 10 soldiers including a Junior Commissioned Officer, were hit by an avalanche in Siachen at an altitude of 19,600 feet.

An Army officer, Lance Naik Hanamanthappa, was found miraculously alive by the rescue teams who have been trudging through snow day and night. Trapped 25 feet under the snow and sustaining -45-degree temperature, he miraculously survived there for 6 days. When he was rescued, he had no signs of life but a pulse.

His condition is critical but stable. He has been taken to Delhi by C-17 IAF aircraft, where a special medical team will help him.

He hails from Betadur village in Dharwad district of Karnataka
