Meet Sheetal Dugar, The 1st Indian Woman To Own And Race In A Lamborghini Huracan!

If you’re ever in Kolkata and get distracted by the low whirring of a car engine, and a flash of gold, then you can safely assume that it’s the Lamborghini Huracan that’s on the streets.

But before you go ahead and judge that the driver is going to be some rich kid behind the wheels of an expensive car that his father bought him, think again. Meet Sheetal Dugar, India’s first woman to own the Huracan worth ₹3.43 Crores.

 

But that’s not all, Sheetal Dugar is the only woman who drives during Club GT’s (an elite club for car owners) – the Sunday morning supercar race-offs in the city that take place on the NH2. And she wins every time.

Her eldest daughter, Yashaswi Dugar, 18 says, “She always wins the races. But there are many other women and wives of competitors, who come to the event but no one participates. Some of the other gentlemen promise to beat her at the next race, but she’s the fastest.”

 

Surprisingly, Dugar had no idea how to drive and be the adrenaline junkie up until she was 20, a year after she was married.

She says,”I learnt it just because I thought it was a valuable life skill to have. I didn’t like being dependent on a driver. I remember we were in Kindergarten and we had a soft-top convertible San Storm. It was a bright, fiery red and it would be a thrill to get dropped to school in it.”

 

Sheetal has not only tried her hand at the Huracan but at Porsches, Mercedes and the Lamborghini Gallardo that they owned before the Lamborghini came.

Her daughters are fully confident of their mother’s driving skills and even have the occasional “mom-driving-to-schoolday.”

 

In case you didn’t know, the Huracan has a roaring 5.2 litre naturally aspirated V10 engine, can produce out massive 610 hp of peak power at 8250 rpm and 560 Nm of peak torque at 6500 rpm and goes from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 325 kmph.

Jealous much? You should be. She has the Huracan.
