“Because Mira Got Married Early, Doesn’t Mean She Has No Identity,” Shahid Slams Haters

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput’s ‘Koffee‘ brewed longer than we expected. Remember we told you the scoop how Mira called Shahid a ‘cradle-snatcher‘ jokingly while shooting KWK’s episode? Well, right after the episode aired, people spewed hatred on ShaMira citing that Shahid took away Mira’s opportunity to explore her career.

Back then, Shahid chose not to comment on any of it. But, in his recent Mid Day interview Sasha spoke about it.

“I think people have loved Mira’s interview, and I was also there (laughs). I think what people enjoyed most was watching us as a couple. It was more about seeing me as a husband, and her as the person she is. All the things that people have been saying about her are things that I’ve known for over a year.”

 

“She’s normal, she’s great, she’s real.”

Shahid-Mira tied a knot back in July 2015 and within a year had baby Misha.

 

People regularly point out their thirteen year age gap, as Mira is 22 and Shahid is 35. Many a time, social media had been pretty brutal to the two. Slamming the haters, Shahid said,

“I don’t give importance to people who try to get importance by criticising those who are important. Just because she (Mira) got married early, doesn’t mean she doesn’t have an identity. Today, women do what they feel like doing. And, as men, we should respect that. Whether you are a working woman, housewife, young mother or a woman who chooses to have a child at a later stage in life, it’s your decision. Mira and I are really happy. I wish people could be happy for those who are.”

 

Also, in another interview, Shahid had said because he is a mainstream star and opted for arranged marriage, that bit came as a shock to all. He also added that Mira has the will and the liberty to do whatever she feels like and is pretty chilled about what’s written about them.

We kinda agree. After all, it’s her choice!
