Uttarakhand Government To Spend 25 Crore To Find Sanjeevani Booti. Will They Find It?

If you have read your epics, you’d know what Sanjeevani is. The magical herb that Lord Ram had sent Hanuman for is believed to be the cure for any disease in the world and can even revive a dead person. Many are of the belief that everything mentioned in the ancient Indian epics have a scientific explanation and no matter how far-fetched they may sound, they had all been creative bi-products of a more scientifically developed society than what we can imagine today.

On that note, the Uttarakhand government has sanctioned a budget of Rs 25 Cr to search the Himalayas for the magical herb, Sanjeevani Booti as an alternative medicine!

“We have set an initial budget of 250 million rupees ($37 million) for the project,” said state minister, Surendra Singh Negi.

Although, the 5000-year-old mythical herb is now under revival under the governance of Prime Ministern Narendra Modi, the search is not funded by the central government.

The state of Uttarakhand will bear all expenses in the search. “We have to try and it will never go to waste. If we are determined we will certainly find it,” said Negi. According to Negi, scientists will begin the work in August and the focus would mainly be on the Dronagiri range of Himalayas which is situated near the Indo-Chinese border.

If this search is a success, a new page will be written in the history of medical research with India taking the brightest spot in the world.
