The vice-captain of the Indian men’s cricket team, Rohit Shama has been on quite a streak lately. From becoming the first player to score three double 100s in ODIs to hitting a century in only 35 balls, there’s no stopping this Sharma ji ka beta!
Another thing that has everyone gaga-ing over is the adorable PDA between Rohit and his wife Ritika. The batsman gave his wife the best gift on their anniversary and won the country’s heart!
Ritika, being the supportive wife and life partner she is, waiting anxiously on her seat for her husband to score his runs. And boy, was she looking cute as hell!
But Rohit Sharma now opened up in an interview on a Youtube web series called Breakfast with Champions about many anecdotes from his life.
He revealed to the host Gaurav Kapoor that his first meeting with Yuvraj was a disaster. However, the teammates are now known to be as thick as thieves.
In the same interview, he also spoke about how he first met his now wife Ritika. It was through Yuvi that the lovebirds met for the first time. Recalling the incident, Rohit said that it was at a shoot and both Yuvraj and Irfan were present too. He said,
“I went to meet Yuvi as he is a senior player and Ritika, who was managing the shoot was there as well. Now, as I said hi to Yuvi Paji, he said, while pointing to Ritikia, that ye meri behen hai aur iski taraf dekhna bhi mat.”
Yuvraj and Ritika aren’t really siblings but the love between the two goes beyond blood. Ritika calls herself Yuvi’s ‘rakhi sister’.
He spoke about his bae saying that at the moment he was very angry with Ritika. He kept thinking who is she after all. He recounted,
OMG!!! How cute are these two?!
But he spoke about how the connection became stronger later on. Talking about his life partner, the cricketer said,
“Afterwards, we became very close friends, she started managing me and we got married in 2015 and are going strong. It has been a roller-coaster ride for me.”
